INTRODUCTION |
GLOSSARYAWARDS Recognition by the Royalty of the efforts of individuals among the populace. CONSORT A person with whom you share a relationship, be it of love, life or a partnership for a particular Tourney. CORONET General use term for the PRINCE and PRINCESS. COURT Formal setting for the presentation of AWARDS and TITLES. CROWN General use term for the KING and QUEEN. EVENTS Meetings where garb is worn and a medieval atmosphere is desired. FAVOURS Formal tokens given to symbolise a particular relationship, be it of friendship, love or consort. FEASTS Events based on the connsumption of food either catered or potluck. KINGDOM Refers to the geographical and demographical group ruled over by the King and Queen. LISTS Refers either to the officer or the fighting schedule itself. MEDIEVAL Generic term used to describe pre - 1600ad. POTLUCK’S Less formal event than a feast, each person attending brings a plate of food to share, generally includes a list. PRINCIPALITY Refers to the geographical and demographical group ruled by a Prince and Princess. REMOVES Course served during a feast. RENAISSANCE Term used to cover the later part of the SCA period. ROYALTY General term for King/ Queen or Prince/ Princess. SCA Short for Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. SOCIETY See SCA above. TABARDS A simple poncho style of costume/ garb, belted at the waist. TITLES Honorific component of awards or station. TOKENS Usually an award token, the physical symbol of an award. TOURNEY Inter-changeable with Tournament in Society usage. TOURNAMENT Event based around martial activities. .. ZEBRA A four footed herbivore not mentioned in this publication. |
